OASV Conference 2025 – Video Recordings

OAHN Swine logoVideo one contains two presentations: 1) African Swine Fever (ASF) and Classical Swine Fever (CSF)preparedness videos: What Swine Veterinarians Need to Know with expert Dr. Aruna Ambagala from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) 2)  Foot and Mouth Disease, Swine Vesicular Disease, Vesicular Stomatitis and Senecavirus A: What Swine Veterinarians Need to Know with expert Dr. Shawn Babiuk from the CFIA.

Both presentations contain practical information and lots of photos that are geared toward knowledge transfer helping swine veterinarians be as prepared as possible for any of these FAD’s if ever found in Canada.  Both presentations were recorded from live presentations at the Ontario Association of Swine Veterinarians (OASV) annual conference that took place on November 7, 2025.

 

 

Video two contains the live presentation with Dr. Francesca Calvetti, a veterinarian working with the European Commission documenting Lessons Learned from African Swine Fever in the European Union (EU). Dr. Calvetti provided an update on the epidemiological situation with ASF in the EU, and update on policies and measures that are in place within the EU and then provided very insightful lessons learned overview on items that we could use to further our preparedness efforts here in Canada.  This presentation contains practical information that is geared toward knowledge transfer helping swine veterinarians and those working in areas of animal disease response roles to be as prepared as possible providing knowledge on what worked and what didn’t work for response in the EU thus far.  This presentation was recorded from a live presentation at the Ontario Association of Swine Veterinarians (OASV) annual conference that took place November 7, 2025.
